thank him but curse him. the micro usb type b was actually flawed from development, with a tendency to tear apart the ports on devices. it can also be bent. its predecessor, mini usb type b, was more robust and would have worked better considering the small difference in dimension. new tech is not always a benefit.
@ my USAmerican followers and mutuals: whenever you’re told in history class that there were no killings related to the Cold War fighting between the US and the USRR and everything was espionage and the like, know that’s a blatant lie. The killing zone of the Cold War was Latin American countries, where the US aided and staged dictatorships under the argument of stopping the rise of communism, even when all the governments that were brought down were socialist and left-wing. These totalitarian governments which establishment the US helped, suspended the rule of law and human rights, military actively going after, abducting and killing civilians to mantain ‘order’.
I misspoke on the first post, one of the killing zones of the Cold War was Latin America. African countries, Asian countries were too subjected to interventionism, imperialism by the US and USSR. The killing zone of the Cold War were virtually all ‘third world’ countries, including Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Cambodia, the Democratic Republic of Congo and so many many more.
I apologise for the mistake. Even though I re-blogged the additions with the corrections back the very same day the post was first made, I should have edited the original post to avoid any misunderstanding.
Please destroy the myth that the Holocaust was just some aberrant blip on the radar of history fuelled by groupthink, rather than the culmination of nearly 2,000 of violent antisemitism and anti-romani racism.
Guillermo del Toro: So I wanna do a movie thats a Cold War era “dark take” on The Little Mermaid, but gender-swapped
Doug Jones, putting on a latex suit: Say no more

Doug Jones, pulling mask over his face: I was born ready
If you live in the US, you should not be freaking out about nuclear war with North Korea in a “we’re all going to die” way. DPRK has one rocket that can reach the continental US, it’s barely gotten functional, and they have no warheads small enough to be carried by that rocket. They can theoretically hit Hawaii and Alaska, but Hawaii is a small, long-range target and Alaska has very low population density, so attacks there would likely be ineffective.
That’s not to say that you shouldn’t be freaking out about nuclear war with North Korea. It’s to say that you should stop being so fucking self-centered about it.
We’re not going to die. If we nuke North Korea, we’ll wipe out thousands of noncombatants, just like we did in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Even in an “ideal” outcome for that first strike, where Kim goes down immediately, his military apparatus will retaliate — against South Korea and probably Japan. This hypothetical nuclear exchange will kill millions of civilians who, surprise surprise, live far away and look sort of not-European. Then we’ll spend the rest of our long, non-incinerated lives bickering with each other over whether it was cool of us to start that fight.
If you want to speak out against Trump’s nuclear bullshittery, don’t bleat “we’re all going to die.” Yell “no atrocities in our name.”

Even though the likelihood of DPRK firing a missile that hits the American mainland is low, I don’t blame anyone for having a visceral reaction to the idea of a nuclear strike. You also can’t assume that everyone on the mainland who is worried has no connection to Guam, Alaska, Hawaii, or any of the Asian countries that you mentioned. It seems a little, I don’t know, fucking self-centered, to assume everybody’s just like you in terms of their connection to this situation.
And for those of us who warned y’all (and by y’all I mean both Trump voters and the leftists who swore that Hillary Clinton was far more dangerous than him) that this would happen, is there any point where you’re gonna step off that mountain of sanctimonious bullshit you live on and recognize that this is exactly what you signed up for?
Also um, does OP understand that this can be escalated very easily into something much bigger than NK dropping one bomb on Guam? The first time I read this post I scrolled past it with an eye roll because similar reasons to what’s been said above. How self-centered is it to assume that everyone but you is unaware of the situation at hand? It’s not that we’re freaking out for selfish, ignorant reasons, but because we haven’t been so close to a nuclear war with two completely incompetent, easily provoked leaders in charge of it all.
Not to mention, Trump’s team (Tillerson specifically), rather than de-escalating the situation through diplomacy like he should be, is encouraging and supporting the president’s words and telling the media Trump should actually double down on such rhetoric.
Its like the 80’s all over again, a remorseless madwoman runs the UK, a maniacal bastard runs the US, the world’s on the brink of nuclear war and all I want to do is listen to synthpop
star wars, ghostbusters, and mad max all pass the bechdel test now tho
that helps with the deja vu but tragically not the crushing fear of nuclear apocalypse
try the synthpop again
Trump is an awful person, but he isn’t a competent politician. Pence is possibly a worse person and a very competent politician. There is already a conservative plan to impeach Trump so Pence can take the presidency.
A Pence presidency probably has less chance of accidental nuclear war, but a much greater chance of extremely socially conservative legislation which would be devastating to civil rights in America. Trump just wants to make money and feel important; Pence has an agenda.
Nixon was impeached for corruption. We already know Trump is corrupt. Bill Clinton was impeached for lying about inappropriate sexual conduct. We already know Trump has lied about inappropriate sexual conduct.
It’s only a matter of time before he lies about something too big for his press aids to smooth over and Congress gets to have his way with him, because he is a mess of a man and makes mistakes, and makes them loud.
If Pence is allowed to take his place, Pence will not make the same mistakes.
Pence is a career politician. He’s well-spoken. He’s relatively attractive. His positions are clear and well-established. He has a law degree. He’s on the conservative end of Republicans, but he’s a committed member of the party. In everything that made Trump unpopular among Republicans as well as Democrats, Pence is the opposite.
There were jokes comparing Trump to Emperor Palpatine, and a good rebuttal of them. Compared to Pence, Trump is Jar-Jar Binks. Pence is Palpatine.
Trump is wildly unpopular because both liberals and the Republican establishment don’t like him. He’s ugly and crass and obviously incompetent, he’s the perfect figurehead to rally against.
Pence is not. Pence is dangerous in different ways, and one of the worst is that he won’t make nearly as good a symbol for his opponents. If Trump gets kicked out, we have to keep protesting, even as people try to say that we got what we wanted, that everything can go back to normal.
Remember this, when the impeachment happens, whether it’s a month from now or three years. Trump is bad. Pence might be worse.
There is no might. Talk to the queer kids and the women and the religious minorities and the ethnic groups he targeted while he served as Governor of Indiana. This man should scare you more than Trump.
Oh believe me. HE DOES.

Any time these jokers consume a piece of media, they take it literally. Bioshock has an AnCap society so it must be pro-Anarcho Capitalism. Warhammer 40k has a fascist society so it must be pro-fascism. Monopoly is a game about capitalism so it must be pro-capitalism.
One of these dudes playing Fallout: Hmmmm Nuclear War Good
